Nit: Macs do not have "alt" keys; PCs do. Macs have "option" keys. Period.

This kind of behaviour is unacceptable. Will someone with list admin
responsibilities please have a stiff word with Mr Ronald Ian Kaye before
his unmannerly and ill-judged 'contributions' taint this entire forum?

Thank you.

Chuckle, splutter, guffaw guffaw. Thanks for that, Martin. :-)))))

In the interests of completeness, I can confirm Paul Berkowitz's suggestion that 'option' is not an option on at least some 'European' keyboards. The UK-issue Apple keyboards supplied with my 1997 vintage 9500, my 2001 Quicksilver G4, and 2004 iMac all have keys that only say 'alt', as does the Macally IceKey replacement keyboard that I'm using right now.

Nice to post on a subject where, for once, I feel on fairly solid ground.
