Actually, I've always used "option" rather "alt", but I glanced at the
keyboard on my 15" pb and then typed "alt" because "option" might lead to
confusion for newbie Mac users.

I've just had a quick glance at the keyboards in the studio. Only one
keyboard out of 18 working Macs says "option" - on an old PowerBook G3.

I found one other keyboard in the spares bin - from a PowerComputing PPC Mac
clone - everything else is "alt".

OTOH, Apple maintain the distinction between option and alt, even if their
keyboards do not:

PC:

So I feel that it is only right to apologize to the group for my failure to
follow Apple guidelines and to thank Walter for bringing my failure to
public attention.

I'm sorry :-)

The only thing that is saving me from total embarrassment is the fact that
the archives work so badly that this incident will be quickly forgotten.

I couldn't live with people associating my name with "Nit".

Regards
