Can anyone here show me how the following two items are the same; i.e., how
the meaning of the first can be coerced to mean the second as an identifier?

The first number is the message identifier as reported by the <<curl>>
property in Thunderbird; the second is the text marker in the text file
wherein the actual message data is written. If I could figure out how to
turn the numeric id into that text string, I could use grep and sed to get
the entirety of the message, headers, body, etc.
