Hi Emanuel,

You're a HERO!

The Satimage.osax seems to be 99% of the BBEdit grep engine!

I haven't had any luck at all with CLI grep, egrep, fgrep, perl or a custom perl interface called 'md'.
The Satimage.osax works! HUURRAAAA!

And since this is running local on My Mac, I can rely on it being there.. Nice!

Regarding the AS Named List, it would not work alone here, since the string in the email body I'm trying to get, is only known by location, so I would not be able to do grep [Place1|Place2|Plase3] from myText.

I only know that there is a semicolon + 2 x 'return' then the String I need, & 2 x 'return'.

But since your OSAX is working, I'm very happy!

Have a Very nice weekend... ;-)

Now, if only we could get the BBEdit grep engine into AppleScript.... ;-), as I would like to avoid opening windows in BBE just to search a mail body text...

Jakob, just out of curiosity, what would be the trouble using Satimage.osax?

This has not been mentioned yet, not even by Chris Nebel, but AppleScript implements a structure named "list". If you use Satimage.osax you can use the "all occurrences" option of its "find text" verb, and get all the matches you are interesting in, as a list. Achieving so is a little bit more tricky if you use text item delimiters, or grep.
