On the other, it may be a protection feature both so you can't turn
it OFF from outside, and because being able to turn such things on
(especially GUI scripts via enabling Assistive Devices in System
Prefs) without explicit permission of the user could open a huge
security hole.
Maybe so - and I respect your input, but we are only talking about
keystrokes to toggle the video in reverse and back, and / or zoom in
or out - the contents of the screen, in this particular scenario.
Since 'Command <option> <control> 8' [via 'tell application "System
Events" ... end tell'] would only be enabled if the user /
administrator placed a check mark into the 'Enable access for
assistive devices' check box; therefore, with permission granted - no
security hole.
It's no longer annual. It's been almost a year since Panther was
released, and Tiger is not due until the spring. 18 months or so
this time. And Apple have announced it will be slower again after
that one.
True, at present; but, my statement was based on the previous
pay-as-we-attempt-to-make-a-viable-OS timely pay periods.
Hmmm, 18 months?
12 months = $130, thus algebraically 18 months = $195 (?) ... I
better start saving my pennies now!
