Does anybody know of somebody who could write an script extension to sort
this problem out?
It seems like none of Apple's apps have the ability to recognise a text
"selection". Yet you can use just about every option in the Services menu to
get at the same text!
Stealing stuff from the display seems a bit of an odd way of doing things.
I posted a message to uk.comp.sys.mac recently about how 3 or 4 "services"
can be used to bypass Adobe's PDF security because of this. You can select
any text in a protected PDF and export it to AppleScript even!
Maybe we don't even need a script extension - a tiny Cocoa app which is able
to register as a service and support AppleScript is all we need.
