If by "merge" you mean "join", a recent contact was using something
called "JoinPDF", which, once installed, can be called with 'do shell
script'.

Just thought I'd mention: I used JoinPDF in a solution I wrote for a client, and they said that output from it couldn't be opened by their clients (using Acrobat on Windows). I couldn't get to the bottom of it, so ended up scripting Acrobat instead. Anyone else using JoinPDF had this issue?
