I assume these times are for sorting Satimage osax's 'list of real' objects? Big lists and Apple events are a lethal combination performance-wise. Just packing a 100,000-item list into an Apple event takes on the order of minutes, due to the crappy inefficient way in which the Apple Event Manager builds AEDescs of typeList.
