Scripting Adobe After Effects

  • Subject: Scripting Adobe After Effects

This is sort of OT 'cause After Effects is only JavaScript scriptable - although you can pass JavaScripts in via AppleScript. Anyhow, hope someone can give me some pointers - even if it's only to a better mailing list for these questions!

The key question is how do I replace one of the resources used by After Effects in its rendering? Basically, we have a photo which is comped together with some live footage and I need to replace this photo, render, save as movie. I've had a look at Adobe's object reference PDF and it leaves me cold. How do I find and replace the photo in the After Effects project window?

TIA

Simon Forster
