PowerMail can also modify incoming messages with AppleScripts. It's one
of the reasons I don't care for Mail. I have frequently needed to extract
superfluous text from incoming messages so I could retain just what was
necessary. Even an abandoned email client like Claris Emailer was capable
of this feature.
