Do I need to specify something to be able to send files outsite? (smtp, dns, ldap??)

Yes you need a fully functional SMTP server to be able to send files.

BTW, if you want to send mails easily, you can have a look to XMail <http://lestang.org/article.php3?id_article=8>.

XMail handles everything for you, you can also have attachments in your mails, use various protocol for authentication and it is a free scripting addition.
