+email>, which sent me looking inside com.apple.LaunchServices.plist
where in LSPrefsBindings I discovered U:mailto and in 0 I found
LSBundleIdentifier which had a value of com.apple.mail.
However, there was nothing in LSHandlers, as the hint suggested until
after I went into Mail's prefs and changed the default to Mailsmith,
then quite Mail. Once I did that, an item showed up with
LSHandlerRoleAll set to com.barebones.mailsmith and
LSHandlerURLScheme set to mailto. Changing the pref in Mail to
Entourage changed the value to com.microsoft.entourage, but again,
only after I quit Mail.
Not a straight, simple answer, but maybe it helps a bit?
