At least you're on the right track. I tried this:
do shell script "defaults read com.apple.LaunchServices |grep -C5 U:mailto |
grep -w LSBundleIdentifier"
-- result: LSBundleIdentifier = "com.microsoft.entourage"
However - I get the same result whether I have Entourage set up as default
app or Mail, and Mail *was* really acting as default mail app.
I've even tried logging out to force a refresh.
