If anything, it tends to be the other way around. More and more, the OS X
application AppleScript implementers (of Finder and the iApps) are
neglecting to make sure "double-commands" work without an explicit 'get'.
Things that are "legacy" and haven't been modified often work OK. New
things, and those that have had to be adjusted, are often implemented by
people who don't know how AppleScript is supposed to work. Whenever
something that you think should work doesn't, throw in a "get". Half the
time, that will fix it, although it's totally against the perhaps forgotten
AppleScript philosophy of making things English-like. The AppleScript team
itself never makes mistakes like this, but the application developers do.
