Hm.  Works fine on Panther.  In 10.4.2 with osascript, I get this:

osascript: script had a result, but couldn't display it.: error -4960.

This script:

error message either; nothing happens. I regard that as a bug, possibly more
than one (i.e. in AppleScript for failing to report the error gracefully and
in Script Editor for failing to handle that failure gracefully). m.
