2. Drag the Video_TS folder to the hard disk and get a "you don't have
permission to copy all the items" error

3. Switch to Terminal and attempt a cp:

martinorpen$ cp /Volumes/THE_SHINING/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB /
cp: /Volumes/THE_SHINING/VIDEO_TS/VTS_01_1.VOB: Permission denied


Interesting. Here on my machine
    Commercial DVD - same problems.
    Home recorded DVD - no problems.
