Are you busy? info for file while copying

Apologies if this is a well-known bug/feature, but I wanted to confirm with those in the know.

From my testing, the Finder's "info for" call simply always returns false for "busy status" and "locked". I was expecting one of them to be true while a file copy is in progress.

If you're relying on a folder action to begin processing some files you need to make sure the file is not still being copied to the folder. Unfortunately, the folder action is called as soon as the file is dropped, not when it is complete.

Is the accepted way around this to loop over the file until the mod date or size stops moving?

Should this be considered a bug?

thanks 1e6,

George
