Yeah, it should say "a list of file types or of type identifiers."

Even that is not enough; I prefer something like:

"a list of file types (file type and file creator) or of type identifiers (UTI)."


file type makes the reader mis-believe 'file type'. I would never thank at 'file type and file creator' until Matt (excellent) question (as usual). In fact, I stopped to use the filter until Tiger (even if that was added in 10.3.9 or earlier) UTI addition. ("public.plain-text" for example)
