Sounds like a bug in Standard Additions.

It makes little difference to us AppleScripters, but it *is* a FindFolder issue. You may not be able to observe the bug in your configuration, or maybe you did not follow exactly the steps I say, but I know some people in Cupertino who think it is a FindFolder issue.
