I need to be able to talk to the server. I am using curl to pull a file down. But if a user is using my program from an off-campus IP address they will not be able to "talk" to the server. I would like to make sure they are able to "talk" to the server before proceeding any further in my app.

Thanks,
-Rhon

Does anyone have any ideas on how I can add a server availability

What do you need for the server to be "available"?
