Hello,
InDesign CS has this incredible ability to import MS Word tables complete
with the cellular structure retained (I just discovered today, a couple
weeks before I'll need to be very knowledgable in handling these
tables!!!)...
Can anyone point me toward some tutorial material that will help me beat
this learning curve? In QuarkXPress I always dealt with tables in the
manner of making each row a separate paragraph, so I have to change the way
I think about constructing and eventually _scripting_ any solutions I might
think of.
Speaking of scripting, as this is an AS group, how well can these table
elements be controlled via AppleScript? I am hoping to get to the point
where I can drive the creation of these table elements from FileMaker Pro
using AppleScript.
I need also to learn how a text box can sport this cellular structure just
within a certain region, so that it might go from regular text to multiple
cells for x number of rows, and back again to regular text. I saw an example
of this and could not figure out how it was accomplished.
So, some of my request is slightly OT with regard to the AS-orientation
here, but since some of the coolest InDesign scripters hang out here, I
figured they might chime in.
Thanks!
Bill Planey
