I want to suspend the execution of a script for a fixed timeout (this is usually called "sleep" in other languages)

I've tried this but it seems to freeze the whole script:
do shell script "sleep 2"

Sorry, it actually works. The freeze is caused by something else...

Anyway, a "native" way to do this?

Guido

else I believe delay 2

will wait for 2 seconds
