Right, I could use this in lieu of the GUI Software Update (and it's
scheduled checks) (or use my existing 'shutdown mysql' script and run
software update by hand) . But, if I don't want all the updates (so I
don't have to re-authenticate QTPro, for example) I'll end up writing my
own GUI to display and select them. And I'm still exposed to the
possibility that I happen to do a restart without thinking deeply about
the implications.
