Title: Re: About password fields
So it seems I will have to use xCode... As this is a script I will distribute to a large group of users and can’t slap in the Appearance OSAX as part of the bundle... So insetad... Anyone got good references or places to get help in starting up quickly when moving from AppleScript to xCode , and mostly specifically just because I absolutely need a secure password field ?

I was wondering.. Is it possible to make a password field secure (appear as
dots) without using studio ? Just in a regular script ?
As far as I know, the only way of doing it in in straight AppleScript (ie. not Xcode) is by using 24U's Appearance OSAX - you can get it here: http://www.24usoftware.com/AppearanceOSAX
You do it like this...
display better dialog "Enter your password" fields {name:"Password", kind:password field}
Hope that helps
