Thanks for the pointers, everyone. However, all they did was point
out that I had a typo in my original post. Both of the folders I've
tried installing the SAs in are "ScriptingAdditions" (one in
/Library/, one in ~/Library/).
Any other ideas?
Have you quit and re-run Script Editor after installing the
scripting additions?
Yep.
And as someone else pointed out, some of them won't run under OS X.
Of course, it really is this simple. As pointed out by jj, Akua
Sweets is not OSX-compatible. The other SAs I was attempting to use
were also "Classic-only". I was thrown off by the fact that both
Script Editor and Smile recognizes the SAs' dictionaries even if they
are Classic-only.
Downloading and playing with some OSX-compatible SAs shows that
everything works as it is supposed to.
