Ouch! That's server murder. ;)

Walking into this conversation a little late I know..

I have scheduled scripts running via the crontab.. which (being a none unix person) was not that hard to set up.

I have some tasks which run once a day.. I do have another one which runs every minute.. of every day.. oops.. Yes I can hear you all now going OUCH! and yes, it must be murder on the server.. but hey, it's been working a treat now for some months..

It IS however one of those things that I have been meaning to ask here, and in fact I think I have..

To give you more information the script that runs every minute is looking for a file, when it sees the file there it does something with it and removes it. This folder is also watched by a Folder action, which essentially does the same thing with the file, but sometimes, if for whatever reason it does not run from the folder action, it breaks, and then I have to manually remove it anyway.. the 1 minute crontab event has fixed all this... although I do think its still a little clunky..

Does someone have a better suggestion?

thanks

wayne
