Thanks, Emmanuel. I'm certainly grateful to have it.

I'm assuming file thefile would be a colon delimited hfs file path, right?
(Apologies, I can't seem to trust anybody with path formats any more.)

I would, of course, rather find a simple change to perform on my original
command instead of having to construct a new method. Maybe a new data type
that means text although it's not described by the 4 character code "TEXT"?

My goodness, why, I've become as cynical as Mr. Delacour!
