While most of us undoubtedly appreciate your months of testing (I know I certainly do!), it really shouldn't surprise you that others share your scientific curiosity even if their experimental methods are less rigorous or their hypotheses less well-informed. Expecting others to be content accepting anomalies because "Matt says it's so" would be a bit like a parent expecting a child to "avoid any mistakes I made when I was your age." ;-)
