No, it's in my user crontab.

Nope - it ... umm. I've just realised that it might be running on my old
machine which my wife is now using. I moved everything wholesale on to this
newer machine. I'll investigate and report back.

Yes, though I've also had the failure message when I have been logged in,
to my recollection.
