How to use the "Find" command in Tiger Finder?

I notice there is a new "Find" command in the Finder dictionary in Tiger
that states

find: Return object that match the provided query
find Unicode text -- the query to execute (in Spotlight form)

However, when I try it it is evident that it expects something else than
just the search term (as one would type in the spotlight find field) so I
guess one has to use a certain query syntax. I took a wild guess and tried
the syntax of the shell command "mdfind" but that doesn't seem to work.

Has anyone seen this documented? Or better yet, can you provide examples?

Thanks in advance
