I am sorry Michelle, but your statement is misleading and can let people thing
that it is not possible to set extensions using Mac OS 9 which is false.
You can set extension to files under Mac OS < Mac OS X.
However, it can be possible that AppleScript does not support file extension
under Mac OS 9 and below (I do not recall).
