Often when working with digital pictures you want to set the shooting date and time as the files creation dates. I find it strange that this is not the standard for the upload programs - what can the upload time be used for?

Thus I have attached a script which is able to do this. At the moment it will set both the creating and the modification dates, but this should not be hard to change.
It has support for jpeg, tiff, and xml.
It runs under 10.3 as well as 10.4, however, it requires the following items:

         "XML Tools.osax" in Library/ScriptingAdditions
         /Developer/Tools/SetFile (from XTool)

Attachment: SetOriginalDate11.scpt.sit
Description: Macintosh archive

Have fun
/Heinrich
