Why, you may ask, would anyone want to do that? Because the Canon Power Shot camera sets the Creation date to null, and the Modification date to moment of creation. Repeated attempts to get Canon to recognize the problem failed. AppleScript OS9 saved the day.

As an alternative to SetFile, GraphicConverter offers lots of options for dealing with these kinds of issues--including a contextual menu in the Browser for setting the Creation Date to the Modification Date.
