Thank you very much! That did the trick!

One thing to try, put System Events in your "Login Items" list in the
Accounts prefpane. Tiger launches System Events at boottime, but Panther
didn't.
Find System Events at:

Gnarlodious-Cube ~ /System/Library/CoreServices/System\ Events.app

-- Gnarlie

1) Is "Remote Events" enabled in the Sharing prefpanel?

2) calling the LAN address doesn't work here, but "Gnarlodious- Cube.local"
does.

3) Try telling "System Events" rather then Finder, but both work here

Entity Robert Olsson spoke thus:

Hi!
Is there anyone who knows why this won't work:
osascript thescriptbelow
when this works:
set remoteMac to "eppc://user:email@hidden"
using terms from application "Finder"
tell application "Finder" of machine remoteMac
         sleep
     end tell
end using terms from
I don't get any errors, the Mac just won't sleep. When I run it from
Script Editor it works fine...
