I react sometimes like the computer I use:
I want to download the Free Stuffit Expander, so when I saw "download the trial
version of Stuffit Standard", this is not - two times - what I want:
a. I do not want Stuffit Standard (nor DeLuxe),
b. I do not want to try, I already know Stuffit (I use it since the end of the
80's).
I have to add that I use it here and there (once a month or so), for one or two
files... most of the time, for decompacting the file.
This is not a 'home' usage, far away from a true (pro) usage, so buying it can't
be a choice (unlike ... Tiger, that I use every day, many hours a day).
At last, I can use other (free tools) to compact files (say zip) and these files
can be decoded on a XPlatform basis.
Thanks again and regards,
Emile

Stuffit Expander is still free. In order to download it you do have to
download the trial version of Stuffit Standard, but the Expander component
stays free and functional after the rest of the Standard suite expires.
