FileMaker/Address Book Synchronization...

Hallo David,

like you, I keep very many 'kontakts' with lots of information in several Filemaker files (privat, business etc.). Since, on the other hand, iAdressX provides a comfortable means to find an address very quickly in AddressBook groups, I wrote a rather long script for my personal use in order to 'synchronize' the AdressBook immediately (by pressing a button) when I updated any record in the Filemaker file.
Of course, its a bit 'German-oriented', but, if you are interested, I will get the main features summarized for you in an example.
Regards
Jobst

I have built myself a contact list that is integrated into my main FileMaker application ... but would like to use AddressBook for other purposes ... such as storage of email addresses for my email client, and synchronization with my iPod.

I can't get rid of my FileMaker database because you can't do queries of the Address Book very easily, and I have all kinds of relationships from other tables to my contact list.

I've started to develop an AppleScript application that will synchronize the AddressBook with a FileMaker database containing pretty much the same fields.

But, before I waste any more time on this, has anyone been there before me?

- David Crowe
