My AppleScript Crystal Ball (really) already sees where this thread is going, so I might as well go on and link it:

The original hint (at the top) is pretty much accurate, except that you hold down the option key not while clicking 'Add' but while clicking 'More Printers.' This distinction was made in a more recent comment (at the bottom) of that page.

I tried for a long time the other day, using UI Browser. There's no way to
do it that I can see. You can't get that popup to display via GUI scripting.
