According to the scripting additions dictionary:
[with icon file] -- or an alias or file reference to a .icns¹ file
... so I tried this:
set iconFile to alias "Studio!:Studio Files:Graphics:Interface:note.icns"
tell application "Finder" to display dialog "hello" with icon iconFile
...which works just fine and dandy. So it's now very easy to use any icon
you darn well please, which seems like a good thing. (A lot easier than
messing about with bundles, at any rate.)
This is new, according to the AS 1.10 (Tiger only) release notes:
"The with icon parameter to the display dialog command now accepts an alias
or file reference to a ³.icns² file. [3437405]"
Also from the release notes:
"The display dialog dialog now uses Aqua icons for note, caution, and stop."
So it looks like the old 'note' icon got lost in the shuffle.
