Connect to Server can result in various sorts of connections. Once established, they are "just a disk" to the Finder. The system's implementation of presenting an FTP server connection as a disk is indeed read-only, but AppleShare and WebDAV (for example) are read/ write.


What sort of server are you connecting to? (And if you Get Info on the disk once connected, what does it say for "Format:"?)
