Thanks Gary for your excellent advice. I Googled "Tell Application" as you suggested and will now spend the next 40 years sifting through 93,000,000 matches. I obviously tried multiple searches before posting to this User Group, and would not have wasted your time if I thought there was another way I could find a solution. Sorry we all can't be as astute as yourself.

Google: "tell application Excel"

Result: 67 hits, looks like most contain script examples
