How long is a long file? If it's only a few megabytes, read it all and extract the text from it in AS.

I'll give that a go using TIDs.

It's /usr/share/dict/web2 and it's 2.3MB. I tried splitting it by words and by paragraphs and both these methods caused errors or terrible slowness on the G4 that I was sitting at.
