Yeah, thats also what i want to know, alot of people either dont know about these tools, or don't use them.. I'm wondering if I am missing something, because these tools seem to be good to me.. who is actually a person who doesn't really know the ins and outs of all these things.. 



"open for access " is all the time, and I don't understand why in OSX?

Is there a reason?


I think you left something out there. At any rate, to just read a file you
don't need open for access.

as in open for access in OS 9 but in OSX wouldn't unix tools be better? 

Again, just asking..
