Title: RE: Quark to InDesign
Quark 6 will not save down to Quark 4 files. You need to do that in Quark 5. (That's why "they" told you that it was a two-step operation.) You'll need to address the two applications uniquely or launch Quark 5 after quitting Quark 6. If they're really just text files, you may do better to just extract the content rather than try and do a full-on conversion to InDesign. At least try a few conversions before committing your resources to this, because you may not be satisfied anyway.

"Quark to InDesign":

Help
I have to write a script to get several thousand text files from Quark 6 to InDesign 2.0.2

They tell me I have to open the files in Q6,
Save to Q5 format.
Then open the file in Quark 5 and save to Quark 4 format.
Then import into InDesign.

I have a script that does the 6 to 5 conversion.
the save line is as follows:
tell application "QuarkXPress"
save document 1 version vers 50 with replacing
end tell

The Q6 dictionary shows that I can choose vers 40 but it does not work.

Can someone shed a ray of sunshine on this?

Thanks
Oakley
