Hey Tom/Everyone,

I have been waiting on the sidelines ALL day for someone to reply to this.. I have had similar issues with Folder Actions being un-reliable.

I don't know if it is my scripts that cause Folder Actions to be unreliable or if Folder Actions itself is unreliable, but I find it really annoying that we have to resort to inelegant ways of triggering scripts.. Because when Folder Actions work, they work really well..

So although there are work-arounds for these problems, is there something that Simon and myself, (I'm sure there are others) can do to get more reliability from Folder Actions?

Drove me nuts for a bit.

I wrote combination of applescript, to get the contents of the source

folder, filemaker, to keep track of the files in the folder and there sizes,

and triggered the thing to check every minute with ido script scheduler.

Not elegant, but functional.

I've written a simple AppleScript application which "immediately"

backs up photographs to two different locations.
