I fully agree! When you get into the habit of double-clicking to edit a
.scpt, it's a break in routine to do something else (not to mention the
fact that it takes time to locate ScriptEditor in a busy Dock, as you
point out.)

Sometimes display a dialog to the effect of "Do you want to edit this
script or do XYZ", where XYZ is typically to configure its 'preferences' -
i.e. the way that the droplet will behave when things *are* dropped on it.
Just an idea.
