Using XCode 1.5 like I use to the Script Editor

I am new to XCode 1.5, and I would like to use it sometimes like I use ScriptEditor. That is, put a statement and have it evaluated (run) and see the results somewhere. (ScriptEditor gives the result at the bottom of the window). Is there such a simple functionality or a hack that would allow me to do this? I must be overlooking something.
