The next meeting of the Philadelphia Area AppleScript Users Group (PAASUG) will be held on Friday, December 8th, from 6:30 - 8:30 PM, at The University of the Sciences in Philadelphia < http://www.usp.edu/>, McNeil Science & Technology Center, classroom 149, 600 South Forty-third Street, Philadelphia, PA 19104-4495.
The December PAASUG meeting will feature a presentation by Carolyn Kolbe, from McMunn Associates, Inc., and will focus on Adobe Illustrator scripting. Carolyn has been an Adobe Illustrator user for 11 years. Initially using Illustrator to produce various graphics and charts, Carolyn began exploring Illustrator's AppleScript support with version 9. She's been hooked ever since. Today, Carolyn uses her knowledge of Illustrator and AppleScript to produce custom graphing applications for McMunn Associates, Inc. who in turn uses these applications to produce charts for their high profile financial clients.
The same scripting techniques Carolyn uses to style and position text and other objects in Illustrator can also be used to produce other graphic output. Come learn how. Carolyn's presentation will include...
* Demonstrations of Illustrator-specific graphic scripts * An overview of Illustrator's object model * Steps for scripting the creation, positioning, and styling of text * Steps for interacting with other graphical objects * Adding live content to Illustrator graphics
Anyone interested in automating the construction and manipulation of graphics in Adobe Illustrator will not want to miss this presentation.
