Unacceptable application/script bundle save times

  • Subject: Unacceptable application/script bundle save times

I noticed that the save time of an application or script bundle with
many MB of data in the Resources folder is unacceptably high.
On my PowerBook 12" 867MHz with 60GB HD at 4200 rpm a Resource folder
with 30MB of data makes appear the rolling beachball for about 13 seconds.
This happens each time I save the application/script bundle, regardless
if the script has been effectively modified or not. Nevertheless, even
if the text of the script has been modified, I think that Script Editor
should update only the script file. Actually, Script Editor duplicates
the whole application/script bundle, causing very high save times (and
this is why the modification time doesn't change, too).
Am I the only one that feel this is a very bad Script Editor's design issue?
