Please try again, here I can almost always reproduce the problem.
Make sure Console.app is open and that shows the console log.
Copy:
if "" is "" then beep
Paste it in a fresh new Script Editor window.
If Console.app doesn't print something like
2006-01-10 12:26:38.524 Script Editor[492] *** NSRunLoop ignoring
exception '*** -[NSCFString substringWithRange:]: Range or index out of
bounds' that raised during posting of delayed perform with target 356fa0
and selector 'updateElementsList:'
try to create a new editor window and paste again.
Actually, just pasting the command causes the error in Console.app, it
doesn't even need to be compiled.
