It has to do with being a 'can this be done with Applescript' kind of enquiry. I did check your book, Rosenthal and the O'Reilly book and the last year of this list before asking, I suppose my lack of results there should have been a clue. (Not that I really understand those books, it's not my forte despite my best efforts).


Thanks for the recommendations of alternatives. And the shell scripts that seem to work in, uh, Applescript. The other factor is that I am using iListen because of an old injury so I *was* hoping to use a scriptable (and therefore speakable) method. I'll look into EasyFind or Path Finder 4.
